Intro
Let's look at two tenses that are easy to confuse: Past Simple and Present Perfect. We use Past Simple when we talk about a finished action at a specific time. For example: "I submitted the report ten minutes ago." We know exactly when it happened. Time expressions like "yesterday", "last week" and "ago" go with Past Simple. We use Present Perfect when the action is recent or connected to now, and the exact time is not important. For example: "We've just spotted a small bug in the system." The focus is on what happened, not when. Time expressions like "just", "already" and "yet" go with Present Perfect.
