    We use “it’s” to give or confirm information. For example, when you say “It’s John Smith,” you confirm the name, and when you say “It’s three zero five,” you give a room number. “It’s” is the short form of “it is.” To ask a question and check information, we change the order of the words and move “is” to the beginning of the sentence. For example: “Is it John Smith?”
