We often use the words “some” and “any” when we want to say "a little of something". In positive sentences, we use "some". For example: "I would like some sugar". When we politely ask for something, we also use "some". For example: "Can I have some sugar, please?" But in other questions, we use "any". For example: "Do you want any sugar?"
